The first one would be rushing to launch. I know you’re, so excited you want to put this product out there and you’re so pumped up, but the truth is you really need to calm down you don’t need to rush to launch your product.

First thing you need to ask yourself is: what is my usp? What is my unique selling proposition like? Why am i doing this? Because the world doesn’t need another product. The world doesn’t need another brand.

The world needs a solution to a certain problems. Some other questions you might want to ask is your your business name or, and your domain name, because you don’t want to to launch your product. You don’t want to register your business name then launch your product.

Then you realize oh, this product doesn’t align with my business or with my domain name. So you want to be sure you you are using the right domain. The website domain that aligns with your product and your brand. This is a mistake you should avoid when starting an e-commerce business.

Not Doing Enough Research.

The second would be not doing enough research.This is kind of similar to the first point, and like I mentioned earlier you don’t need to rush. You want to do enough research about your products, your target market, your your competitors, because you don’t want a situation whereby you buy the product you stock up inventory.

Then you realize you’re selling the wrong product to the wrong audience, so you want to do all this research. Yes, I agree. Sometimes you need to test the product first, but at the same time, regardless of whatever you’re trying to sell, you still need to make sure you’re selling the right product to the right audience.

So you want to create a buyer personal of your target audience but, like i said, you also want to look into your competitors. You want to look at what they are doing, you also want to you have the knowledge about the general markets.

You have, but you you’re planning to enter and the one of the easiest way you can do. This also is by going to facebook groups, you want to go to facebook groups and forums where you know your target audience are hanging out.

So you just want to go there and you now figure out if this is the kind of people I want to sell to facebook groups and forums like quora or already are some of the best place to to start your research.

Some of the questions you want to ask when doing your research is, am I selling to the right audience? Is my product going to solve a problem for this audience? I’m planning to sell to another question is uh.

What kind of marketing strategy would be the best to to reach my my audience, so you want to keep all this in mind. Another question is: would I be selling locally or internationally? You know asking all these questions, will help you figure out the shipping cost, then you know, the logistics and all because you don’t want to launch. Then you realize you don’t even have an idea of what the shipping cost to be. So you want to make sure you do enough research before launching your store online.

Selling On The Wrong Platform

The third one would be selling on the wrong platform, this is also one of the e-commerce business mistakes you should avoid, because you don’t want to sell your product on the wrong platform, there are different kind of platforms for different kind of business model.

We have amazon, we have etsy, we have shopify, we have woocommerce and also you really want to make a research about the platform you want to be selling right, because the kind of platform you use also determines and also contributes to the success Of your your e-commerce business from my experience, shopify tends to be the easiest for most beginners if they really want to have their own website and they don’t want to go to a marketplace like amazon etsy, so you can start with Shopify, if you don’t really have much about building a website or some kind of technical stuff, so shopify tends to be the best for for beginners.

Not Having The Market Plan Or Marketing Budget

The fourth one would be not having the market plan or marketing budget. You see now having a marketing plan of marketing budget is in fact one of the e-commerce business mistakes you should avoid, I also made these mistakes when i was starting out right, so I launched this store. I put some product on the store. I ran few hours and i think i’m going get flood of traffic on my website.

This is so far from reality, You want to make sure you have a marketing plan, a marketing budget in place, because no matter how good your product is no matter like you might think you have the best product in the world.

The truth is, if you don’t have a marketing plan. If you don’t have a way to reach your target audience, nobody’s, going to notice your stuffs. Nobody’s, going to notice your product and that might lead to a big frustration on the long run.

So you want to make sure you have a marketing plan. A marketing budget in place though as a beginner you don’t really need a huge budget to start, you can still go through the free traffic routes.

You know like content marketing, but you still want to make sure you have a plan in place and also you want to keep in mind using the free traffic and also the paid traffic contributes. Both of them contribute a lot to the success of your e-commerce business, so on the long run you want to mix both paid ads and also some free traffic to your store if you want to.

You want to use this to drive traffic to your to your e-commerce store.

Not Having A Customer Support System In Place

The final one would be not having a customer support system in place. You see one of the easiest way to lose a customer is having a bad customer service or support. Also not having a good customer support is the easiest way to lose a customer for life and no amount of marketing effort can bring that customer back.

So you want to make sure you have a good customer support system in place as a beginner, you don’t need to stress about it or the kind of customer service you want to use.

There are different ways to provide high-level customer support for for your customers, but as a beginner one of the questions. Some of the questions you can ask yourself in order to figure out which approach to to use for your customer support system is: how am i going to respond to customer complaints? Is it by email? Is it by phone or is it by instagram or facebook?  So answering these simple questions will help you know how to start your customer support system.
